Today we talk about the product that I thought would require a shorter trial period to let me get a clear idea: the BB Cream for combination skin. Lately my skin decided to rise up with pimples so abnormal at all, while continuing to feel stretchy in some zones: more combination than this, it's impossible! As I also have a sensitive skin, a lot of my usual products began to bother me, so I needed something delicate.
The BB Cream I got is a Dark Beige shade, so I was afraid it didn't fit my pale complexion (I am a NW10/NW13 for Studio Fix from Mac): I actually found out the pigment gets scattered by applying it. But let's go in order.
What is a BB Cream? The name comes from "Blemish Balm", so it should be a daily cream with "perfecting" functions: a cream that does not alter the color of the complexion, but hides small defects and makes it smooth, contributing also to feed, protect and moisturize the skin. The trend of BB creams was born in the land of the Rising Sun, where women are known for their porcelain skin: the difference is that they use at least 10 (!!!) different products for skincare in their routine, so it's easier for a product to work, as its performance is made better by the action of those they use before, which support its activity. Here in the West, however, a perfect base is the widespread trend: lightweight but super opaque foundation, and often semi-matte or even completely opaque, which make even the most problematic skins look perfect.

I "translated" the ingredients' list you can find on the Facebook page using the classical nomenclature and the Biodizionario's stamps, for these of you mostly addicted to this method: in general I prefer getting a personal idea on a product's composition, in order to suit it to the real performance of a product.
The first swatch on my hand was so traumatic: I immediately said that, with that color, I would not have had anything to envy to the Great Indian Chief Sitting Bull. Fortunately, as I said, this BB cream is that in the most classic sense of the term, and in no way alters the color of the complexion: in fact, once applied, it vanishes into thin air like a normal moisturizer.
As you can see in these photos, it only leaves a light yellowish ring, almost imperceptible: this makes me think that this shade (Dark Beige) is better for warm undertones. In any case, I expected a very different product: I am used to the BB Creams which we can generally buy in the shops, so I expected a little colour, whoch has a medium/low coverage, but still tangible.
I also didn't like that this package makes hard to pick just the right amount of product, and at the same time exposes it to an easier contamination, as hands are colonized by bacteria which unavoidably go into the pot at every use. Furthermore, this cream doesn't get absorbed completely even if you just use a little product, just because it should leave some colour on your skin: instead, even if you just apply a little, there can get formed some granules as the ones you see in the photo below, stockpiles oof dead cells as the ones you get after a scrub: you should pass a tissue on your face, expecially on the mandibular corner, in order to avoid spots or cellular sediments, that make the zone look dirty.
I was pretty discouraged by this premise: the effect looked really nice, but there were too many side effects. When I decided to use it as a primer, however, things changed: with liquid foundation it can extend their lasting of a couple of hours, and gives a very bright effect (wonderful when fixed with a dewy finish powder); the top, however, is with powder foundation, as it, together with the corn starch contained therein, if appropriately fixed, helps keep the skin perfectly opaque and homogeneous up to 8 hours, which for a Biological product is an extraordinary result.
To give you an idea of its potential, here's a brief roundup of looks in which I used it :) Sorry for the poor quality of a few pictures, but the internal camera did not want to work for me, and with the outer one I could not take good pictures! In the first and third photo I used only the BB Cream for my base, an no other products, nor colored or opaque, just using a touch of powder (Surreale from Neve Cosmetics): in the other photos, you can see it used as a base for liquid foundation (So'Bio ETIC), free mineral powder foundation (Neve Cosmetics High Coverage) and compact powder foundation (Neve Cosmetics Flat Perfection)
Among the cons, then, I must count another painful chapter: my skin absolutely does not tolerate shea butter on the face, and the same applies to sweet almond oil: after 15 days of daily use, I had many blackheads on nose and chin, and four painful swollen and red pimples on the chin and along the jaw line, plus one on the cheek that I managed to eradicate. If you have problems with heavy oils and butters, this cream is not right for you: instead it will be perfect for the other, even for those with dry or mature skin.
Given its low coverage, those who want a coloured, super lightweight cream will find their peace: the scent is heavenly light but does not fade quickly, so it's also a treat for senses.
I congratulate myself, though, to have found a really fabulous use: I use a really tiny drop along with mineral concealer (I use Green and Peach from Neve Cosmetics): I mix them into their cap, then I lay them where necessary. The effect is stunning: the area around my eyes does not get dry, pimples are perfectly covered, dark circles vanish. YAY! :) You have to try it!
As usual, I hope you enjoyed my review and you found it useful :) XOXO,
